VIEW GUIDE

Within Sydney, where city and nature blend into one another, there are secret corners of excitement that are waiting to be found. Aside from being home to one of the most famous buildings in the world, Sydney Opera House, the city offers a vast and delicious range of food. Sydney's love of dumplings knows no bounds and the large Asian community in the inner city means you can find great cuisine around most corners, whether it's Din Tai Fung in World Square or exploring Chinatown in Haymarket for somewhere that catches your eye. Australians are known for their enthusiasm when it comes to a good drink and Sydney really steps up to the plate. If you can get a seat, don't miss out on sipping a G&T while watching the sun set over the Harbour Bridge at the Opera Bar.

Insider tips

Frankie's Pizza - I don't know who Frankie is, but his pizza is fantastic. An underground bar with live performances, low ceilings and good fun, you should definitely give some of your time to Frankie. | Glebe Markets - When I lived in Sydney I stayed in Glebe, an inner-suburb that is reminiscent of Brighton, UK. There are quirky shops and coloured houses but my favourite feature was the Saturday market where you can find good fashion, music and food. | Sunrise in Circular Quay - I know it's already been mentioned but one of my favourite memories from my time in Sydney, perhaps one of my fondest memories ever, was watching the sun rise over the harbour. It was Anzac day morning, I had just seen the dawn service and wandered over to the Opera House. Pick a morning where the sky is clear, get yourself a warm cup of coffee or hot chocolate and just take in the calm beauty, you'll be glad you did. | VIVID - If you are fortunate enough to be in Sydney between May and June you have perfect timing to see Sydney's marvellous light festival. Talented and adventurous artists come together to turn the city into a colourful and magical place. Installations are created all around the city for you to find and piece de resistance is the Opera House sails being transformed into a theatre screen with brilliant images projected on to it. Definitely one to put in the diary.
